Esil University Holds a Gamified Session to Develop Leadership Competencies

As part of the course Leadership and Personal Effectiveness, a gamified session entitled “Personal Effectiveness of a Manager” was held for fourth-year students. The session was conducted by J.A. Zhailaubayeva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Management.

The main objective was to help students understand the role of personal effectiveness in a manager's professional activities and develop practical leadership and management competencies.

The session featured an interactive learning approach using a digital game titled “Jeopardy for Managers.” Through the game tasks, students demonstrated analytical thinking, initiative and decision-making skills. Particular attention was paid to self-organization, responsibility, emotional intelligence, stress resilience, time management and prioritization.

Following the session, participants discussed how to apply their knowledge to real management situations. The activity demonstrated the potential of gamification to increase student engagement and develop professional skills. The key takeaway was that effective leadership begins with self-management.
