Esil University held its first-year student induction ceremony at the Yerkegali Rakhmadiyev State Academic Philharmonic. The celebration brought together students, lecturers, university leadership, and distinguished guests. For first-year students, the evening was an important occasion to discover university traditions and feel like full members of the wider student community.
At the ceremony, Esil University Rector A.A. Taubayev delivered a welcome address and congratulated first-year students on the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Good wishes were also expressed by N.K. Batyrbek, Chief Specialist of the Internal Policy Department of Astana’s Baikonyr District Administration; Zh. Kambar, Chief Specialist at the Astana Zhastary Youth Resource Centre; and a representative of the Zhastar Rukhy youth wing. The guests’ congratulations highlighted the importance of young people’s pursuit of knowledge and active participation in public life.
One of the most significant moments of the event was the first-year students’ ceremonial pledge. It symbolised their entry into the university community and the beginning of student life. The ceremony enabled students to appreciate the importance of respecting university traditions, taking responsibility for their chosen profession, and upholding shared values.
Art Club and ESU Band performed as part of the evening’s creative programme. Music and dance performances, comedy acts, and interactive games created a festive atmosphere for the audience. First-year students learned about the university’s student organisations, received information about extracurricular opportunities, and participated in a parade of departments. The programme offered opportunities to adapt to a new environment, get to know one another, and choose activities that matched their creative interests.
During the ceremony, 13 students received letters of appreciation for their active participation in career guidance activities and the admissions campaign. The awards recognised their contribution to the university’s work and their initiative. Recognising these students’ efforts demonstrated to first-year students the importance of participating in university life and contributing to a shared endeavour.
