The “You Are Not Alone” charity initiative was organised at the initiative of Z.S. Arystanova and E.V. Savvin, senior lecturers of the Department of Social Work and Tourism, in cooperation with the Support Centre for Young People Leaving the Children’s Village in Astana.
Student volunteers support Viktor Gainanov, who is undergoing a lengthy recovery following a serious injury. They visit him regularly, bringing groceries, books, and essential items. During their latest visit, Viktor warmly welcomed the students, whose attention and companionship have become an important source of support for him.
Second-year student Toleukhan Tanibergen has shown particular dedication, never missing a visit and supporting Viktor throughout his recovery. The initiative enables future social workers to put the values of empathy, mutual assistance, and professional responsibility into practice.
