Seven first-year Economics students attended a digital literacy and cybersecurity forum alongside their academic adviser, G.K. Baibussinova, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Marketing.
Organised by Kazakhstan’s Financial Monitoring Agency and the Astana city administration, the event brought together approximately 1,600 students from universities in the capital. Discussions focused on preventing online fraud, identifying deepfakes, and recognising money mule recruitment schemes.
Experts, bloggers, and cybersecurity specialists delivered practical lectures. The forum helped students broaden their understanding of digital threats and safe online behaviour.
