Esil University held a discussion on “Academic Integrity in Higher Education Through the Lens of I. Altynsarin’s Ethical Views” with first-year students enrolled in the Economics educational program. The event was organized as part of the Russian Language course by lecturers E. A. Urunbasarova, F. Z. Dzhaksylykova, M. Kh. Khasenova, A. A. Utegenova, S. T. Uskenbayeva, and A. I. Kuznetsova from the Russian Language Section of the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities.

During the discussion, students explored the moral values reflected in I. Altynsarin’s literary works and their connection to the principles of academic integrity. Using the stories “The Son of a Rich Man and the Son of a Poor Man,” “The Generosity of Atymtai,” “Politeness,” and “Garden Trees,” participants discussed the importance of independent work, respect for intellectual property, compliance with academic regulations, prevention of plagiarism, and a responsible approach to learning.

The event was part of Esil University’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of academic integrity. Following the discussion, students concluded that academic integrity is not merely about following established rules, but also about making a conscious ethical choice that influences the quality of education, professional dignity, and the reputation of future specialists.
